For us CalHaunters July can be a tricky month. For most, it marks the official beginning of our build season. To corpse that bucky or distress some clothes or to carve a few new tombstones to rest on our lawn.
This year that season was kicked off in royal style.
Stacy Fitz of SacFX Studios put together this months course on sculpting a zombie or ghoul face.
Graciously hosted by Bob and Nancy Howard took on the challenge to make their kitchen into a temporary sculpting studio to avoid the 104-degree heat while providing BBQ burgers and hotdogs to go with the other pot luck items brought by the participating members.
While food was digesting, Stacy provided the tools and materials everyone needed to sculpt their own monster.
The course began with a brief classroom instruction on the differences between clays and common use of tools that might be used to achieve the desired zombie or ghoul look.
Once everyone got started, Stacy made the rounds to all attendees giving them tips and pointers on their individual works of art.
At the end of the day, several monsters were created from the wild imaginations of those who attended.
